Just what to expect as an affiliate marketer – The Lifestyle.

Affiliate marketing is a great way for most people to make a lot of money online. This is the easiest way to start a business online, and anyone can learn it and master it. At the same time, it could be one of the best ways to make money online, and it's definitely a lot better than blogging for AdSense or something similar.

And this is a point that Facebook advertisers like to stress. Chances are, you've seen a lot of ads for "schemes" and "programs" that promise to help you make money online. And you can bet that 9 out of 10 of them will be based on affiliate marketing.

If you see these ads, you'll know them. People talk to you from their private yachts and tell you how they make six figures a year working only a few hours a week.

In the same way, you've probably seen videos of online "billionaires" talking about how they make money while wearing suits and sitting in fancy offices. Using affiliate marketing, they have built their own "digital empire." They are now rich and powerful, and you probably want to be them... But is all of this true? Can affiliate marketing really help you do all of that? Can it really be that simple? Or is there something else?

How much does a marketer who uses affiliate links make?

First, let's take a look at the claims about income. We don't have to try to figure this out. During the Affiliate Summit, more than 1,800 affiliate marketers filled out a survey about how they work and how much money they make.

How much money do they make?

Well, only 46% made less than $20,000, while 8% made between $50,000 and $100,000 and 12% made more than $100,000. At the very least, this shows that you can make a lot of money. (The rest fell somewhere in the middle, but 19% chose not to answer at all.)

What's also interesting is how far apart the earnings are. Affiliate marketing brings in anywhere from $20,000 to $100,000 or more, which is not something you can do in a traditional job.

So why is there such a big difference? It comes down to the skill of the person.

As an affiliate marketer, you work for yourself and by yourself. You don't have to "climb the corporate ladder" or try to get a promotion. If you have the right skills, you can get to the top overnight if you work hard.

And in this book, we'll look at the secrets you need to know if you want to start making a lot of money as an affiliate marketer.

Affiliate marketing is a way of

life. What does it involve?

Even so, the money might not be the best reason to do affiliate marketing. Instead, many people like this business model because they don't have to do anything to make it work. Once you've set up everything, like your sales funnel, your affiliate network account, and your blog/sales page, you can make money while you sleep or go on vacation.

But again, you can twist this. When you're at the top of your game as an affiliate marketer, you can live like this. It doesn't happen overnight, though.

In fact, getting started with affiliate marketing is likely to take a lot of work. The idea is that you work hard at the beginning so that you can reap the benefits of your work later on. First, you have to be willing to work a lot of hours for not much pay.

So, what does affiliate marketing

look like in detail?

If you're reading this book, you probably have a general idea of what happened, but we'll go over it again in more detail for those who don't.

As an affiliate marketer, your main job is to sell products for a commission. This means you'll look for products online and promote them using your own affiliate link. If someone clicks on your link and then buys the product, you will get a cut of the profit. Most of the time, affiliate marketing involves selling digital products, and your cat could be anywhere from 50% to 75% of the RRP.

You don't have to worry about anything because you aren't making the product and there's nothing for you to ship or store. You only have to sell, but you make more than the person who made it.

The hard part is making those sales, though. This is where "marketing" comes in, and now it's up to you to find a large audience through a blog, an email campaign, advertising, or social media, whichever tool you think will work best.

Beginners won't have a hard time getting started or learning the basics. You're just making sure that people see your affiliate link. There are no investments and no new products. You can start tomorrow in just a few minutes, and it won't cost you a dime.

If you're a big blogger with 10,000 readers a day, this will be easy for you. All you have to do is put some very convincing text and a link on your website, and people will start coming. But if this is your first time doing affiliate marketing, you may find this process a bit more difficult and complicated.

Now you can do one of two things: Start building your own audience or Advertise (You can actually use other methods and "growth hacks" that we'll talk about later, but for now, this will do.)

Advertising

If you're going to pay for marketing, you're probably going to use PPC. This is called "Pay Per Click," and it means that you pay each time someone clicks on one of your ads and goes to your site. More people will come to your site if you pay more.

If your site is well-designed and you can really persuade people to buy your products, you should be able to turn a certain number of visitors into buyers. This means that you can figure out your exact ROI. So, if you pay a certain amount per visitor and N percent of those visitors earn you X amount of money, you can figure out if your strategy is profitable or not.

How much you pay per click will depend on how many other ads are running at the same time. PPC ads work on a "bidding" system. The advertiser who offers the most per click is most likely to have their ad shown.

Even if your website is very good at getting people to buy, only 0.5 percent to 10 percent of visitors will end up buying (and most of the time, you'll be on the low end of that range). So, about 1,000 to 2,000 people will have to see your ad for you to make a single sale. This means you'll have to pay a pretty high price for your ad to be seen 10,000 to 20,000 times to make about 100 sales.

This formula needs a lot of tweaking, and you should expect to lose some money before you get it right. With a good setup, you can expect to spend $600 a day on PPC and make about $200 in profit. When you first start out, that's a pretty big risk, and you'll probably lose money for the first few months (until you learn the right keywords to target, the right products to sell, the right sales pitch etc.).

Building an audience.

If you don't have that much money to spend, your only other choice is to let your audience grow on its own over time.

That means you need to start a blog and use it to promote yourself on social media and get people to sign up for your mailing list. Again, you can't expect your conversion rate to be very high, and you'll need about 10,000 views a day to make even close to a full-time living.

It took a long time to get to this point. You can expect it to take at least a year to get to 600 visitors a day, and even though your traffic will grow exponentially after that, it will probably still be a few years before you reach 10,000.

Oh, and affiliate marketing is anything but passive at this point. At this point, you'll spend a lot of time writing a blog that people will want to follow, sending out emails to your subscribers, and running ad campaigns.

Affiliate marketing is a field where it is very possible to do very well. You can make hundreds of thousands of dollars from it, and once you have everything set up, the money will come in while you sleep.

But it also takes a lot of time and/or money upfront, as well as the right knowledge and plan. If it hadn't, everyone would be rich, no one would work for an employer, and the economy would have collapsed. So really, it's a good thing...

Affiliate marketing: How to Go

About It

The last paragraph wasn't meant to make you feel bad, and I hope you haven't put down the book/tablet and given up hope by now. This is just a wake-up call.

All it means is that you need to start out with the right attitude and the right goals. Don't get into affiliate marketing thinking you'll be a millionaire overnight. You'll be sorely disappointed, which will make you give up. Instead, know that this will take time and won't be your only source of income at first.

You can get around this by doing affiliate marketing on top of your regular job, like a hobby. You can also set up a different online business model to make the money you need to invest in affiliate marketing and find the time you need to work on it.

This might seem like a lot of work, but if you can find time in the evening to post three articles a week and do a little bit of marketing, you should be able to make steady progress. Putting in 3 hours a week is probably enough.

Even though you won't be rich, you'll still get a lot out of this. Let's say you start making $40 from one sale a week. You're not paying for ads; instead, your blog is growing on its own.

This means that you now make an extra $160 a month. That's a nice extra $1,920 on top of what you already get paid. Or, to put it another way, easily enough to get a free vacation. Or to get a nice computer and some new clothes for yourself.

This will go pretty fast and make you between $3,000 and $4,000 a year. Even if you don't move up any further, your annual salary has gone up a lot and you can now live a completely different life.

You'll have financial security and a safety net in case you lose your job. Also, if you choose to sell products in a niche that interests you, you'll be able to do all of this while learning about a subject you love. And as you build a large audience,

you'll find that it's very rewarding to become an "authority" in that field and get fan mail and a large group of people who are interested in what you have to say.

If you keep doing it, you'll get to the point where you can start making millions while you sleep.

Just make sure this isn't your first aim. At first, your goal should be to make a nice amount of extra money.

This might seem like nothing, but it's not. If you start out with the right goals and expectations, you will be less likely to give up and more likely to enjoy a great career that will eventually set you free.

Affiliate marketing's first and most important "secret" is this. But the rest will help you move forward faster with growth hacks and other methods. So, you won't have to wait too long to start making the kind of progress you want and that probably drew you to affiliate marketing in the first place.
